Facility owner William Solyntjes (USA) has over 40 years experience in the dressage world, as a rider, trainer, breeder, facility owner/operator and Judge. He is a former “R” DSHB & "S" Judge, former member of the L Faculty and chair of the USDF Test Writing Committee.
Located in the northwest corner of the Minneapolis metro area, William (Bill) is owner and operator of Brandywine Farm. Brandywine is well-known throughout the U.S. as a top quality dressage training and breeding facility established over 40 years ago by Bill and his late husband, Lloyd Landkamer, winner of the USDF Lifetime Achievement award, among many other accolades. Read more about Lloyd in this Horse's Daily tribute piece. The sport horse breeding portion of the farm produced many in-hand and USDF year-end winners both on the line and under saddle.
As a Senior Dressage Judge, Bill has years of experience judging sport horse shows all over the US, Canada, and been invited to judge in Europe. For 13 years he was on the Oldenburg verband stallion selection committee, traveling throughout North America inspecting stallion candidates, and registering foals.
Bill gained his riding experience and expertise by working with noted European trainers and clinicians, including Nuno Oliveira, and he maintains an active education by hosting top clinicians at Brandywine Farm. Bill has his USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals earned on horses brought up through the levels.
Bill is a sought after dressage instructor and clinician in the Mid-West. Students frequently comment on his exacting eye, ability to bring about notable improvements in their riding and for solving many training problems with an emphasis on the basics, including proper rider position and its affect on the horse's development.
